A total of 32 participants including the principals and DEOs successfully completed the 9th batch of the School Leaders Development Programme (SLDP) held at the Royal Institute for Governance and Strategic Studies (RIGSS) from March 18-24. The event concluded with a reflection session highlighting key insights drawn from the Royal Audience with His Majesty The King and His Majesty’s address at the Passing Out Parade of the second cohort of the 2024 Gyalsung Training Programme in Samtse.

The program was designed to enhance the instructional leadership skills of school leaders while fostering a professional network of educators, experts and policymakers committed to continuous learning and development.

During the week-long program, participants were equipped with key leadership skills to help them build high-performing teams, promote positive school cultures and tackle emerging challenges in the education sector.

One of the primary objectives of the SLDP is to inspire school leaders to drive meaningful change and develop 21st-century skills among students and educators by enhancing leadership competencies.

In 2021, the program trained 231 school principals. The 10th SLDP is scheduled for April 20-26 while the 11th batch will take place from May 25-31 including the DEOs, TEOs, principals and vice-principals.
