The TVET Fair 2026 was held in Thimphu yesterday, offering students, youth and job seekers a unique platform to explore career opportunities and skills in the growing Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector.

Held under the theme โ€œSkills for Life, Skills for the Future,โ€ the event featured 16 interactive booths representing a wide range of fields, from traditional arts and crafts to modern technologies such as robotics, 3D fabrication, and electric vehicle systems. Technical and private institutes showcased their programs through live and hands-on demonstrations, enabling participants to directly engage, gain practical insights and a clearer understanding of available courses.

The program was graced by the Honโ€™ble Lyonpo Namgyal Dorji, the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Employment who emphasised the growing importance of TVET in the country.

The day-long event attracted thousands of visitors, including over 760 students from 18 schools in Paro and Thimphu. Participants had the opportunity to take part in โ€œTry-a-Skillโ€ sessions, gaining firsthand experience in various trades and technical disciplines.

As part of its nationwide outreach, the TVET Fair will continue at Daga Central School in Dagana tomorrow, at Chamkhar Town in Bumthang on March 27 and at Trashigang MSS in Trashigang on March 30, providing equal access to career exploration opportunities for youth across the country.
