EtonHouse Bhutan International School, the country’s first international K–12 school, soft-launched
EtonHouse Bhutan International School, the country’s first international K–12 school, was soft-launched today at the former Kelki School premises in Thimphu, bringing internationally benchmarked education closer to home.
For parents, it means the possibility of giving their children an international education without having to send them abroad. For children, it opens a new space to learn, explore and discover their potential.
The school will offer a full K–12 pathway, with enrolment introduced progressively. The first cohort comprises nine students from kindergarten to Class VI, with higher grades to be introduced in phases.
The learning environment will be supported by three expatriate and four Bhutanese teachers, bringing together international experience and local understanding.
According to the school, students will follow EtonHouse’s research-led, inquiry-based approach to learning. Rather than simply receiving information, children will be encouraged to ask questions, explore ideas and make sense of the world around them. The approach places children at the centre of learning, nurturing curiosity, critical thinking, creativity and active engagement.
The school is established through a partnership between the Ministry of Education and Skills Development and Singapore-based EtonHouse International Education Group, a globally renowned education network with more than 100 schools across eight countries.
