A five-day Capacity Development Programme for out-of-school youth began today at Bajothang Youth Center and Gelephu Youth Friendly Integrated Service Center. A total of 56 youth including 24 at Bajothang Youth Center (15 girls, 9 boys) and 32 at Gelephu Youth Friendly Integrated Service Center (14 girls, 18 boys) are attending it which will conclude on May 16.
The training aims to equip young participants with essential employability and entrepreneurial skills to enhance their prospects for gainful employment. Facilitated by resource persons from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment (MoICE) and other relevant agencies, the programme covers practical topics such as CV writing, job interview techniques, business idea generation, goal setting and other related competencies.
A follow-up mechanism will be established to provide post-training support ensuring that participants receive the necessary guidance and resources to effectively apply what they have learned.
The training is being coordinated by the Programme and Youth Coordination Division under the Department of Education Programmes with funding support from UNICEF Bhutan.
