A group of 32 senior educators, each with over 30 years of experience, some even reaching 40 years participated in their first-ever immersion experience at OP Jindal Global University in Haryana, India. The five-day program which took place from February 24-28 marked a significant milestone in their professional journey offering them a valuable opportunity to broaden their learning perspectives.

In a debriefing session on March 3, the Hon’ble Secretary emphasised the value of such programs for professional development, aligning them with broader educational priorities such as curriculum enhancement, infrastructure development, governance and sustainability.

Organised by the Teacher and Educational Leadership Division of the Department of School Education, the immersion program is designed to enhance the professional skills and global competence of Bhutanese educators. By introducing them to international best practices, the initiative aims not only to refine teaching methods but also to improve student learning outcomes fostering a more competent and globally-minded educational system in Bhutan.
