#TVET: A five-day specialised program, “Innovation in Curriculum Development using ICT Tools” has commenced in Thimphu to strengthen Bhutan’s technical and vocational education and training (TVET) sector.

The program being held from April 6-10, focuses on equipping participants with the skills and tools needed to design competency-based curricula aligned with industry demands. By integrating information and communication technology (ICT) into curriculum development, the initiative aims to make TVET programs more engaging, responsive and accessible while preparing Bhutanese students for the global job market.

A total of twenty-eight participants are attending the training, organised by the Department of Workforce Planning and Skills Development, Bhutan and the Colombo Plan Staff College, Philippines. It is aligned with Bhutan’s 13th Five-Year Plan and the National TVET Reform Plan.

After the program, participants will be better equipped to design and implement innovative, inclusive, and industry-aligned curricula using digital tools, contributing to the development of a skilled workforce and a sustainable TVET system in the country.
