The Hon’ble Lyonpo for Education and Skills Development undertook an official tour to Samtse Dzongkhag from March 15-19, visiting four of the remotest chiwogs in the Dzongkhag.

On March 16, Lyonpo visited Satshangsa-Gyelposhing chiwog under Namgaychhoeling gewog. This was followed by a visit to Nidrupling chiwog under Sang-Ngag-Chhoeling gewog on March 17, Pelkithang chiwog under Yoeseltse gewog on March 18, and Kado chiwog under Ugyentse gewog on March 19.

During the visit, Lyonpo engaged with local residents, discussing development activities, particularly road access and the related challenges. She acknowledged the critical role of infrastructure in rural development and emphasised the government’s commitment to improving connectivity in remote areas.

In addition to infrastructure discussions, Lyonpo shared updates on several national initiatives and policies. These included education reforms, developments at Yoeseltse Central School and plans for establishing a Youth Center in Samtse. She also clarified aspects of the Goods and Services Tax, the third child policy and internet data services, highlighting their significant benefits for citizens.
