The Honโble Lyonpo for Education and Skills Development joined the people of Samtse Dzongkhag in celebrating the 118th National Day. The occasion was graced by Dasho Dzongdag as the Chief Guest.
The event was further honoured by the presence of the Honโble Lyonpo for Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Honโble Members of Parliament and National Council, distinguished guests from India including members of the Bhutan-India Friendship Association (BIFA) and other invited dignitaries.
The celebration began with a sacred Chhipdrel procession followed by the traditional marchang ceremony reflecting Bhutanโs rich cultural heritage and spiritual values. A heartfelt Zhapten was offered for His Majesty The King symbolising the unwavering loyalty of the people and their prayers for continued peace and prosperity.
A lively parade, captivating cultural performances and engaging fun games with prizes highlighted the dayโs program. The announcement of lottery winners further added to the excitement with winners receiving attractive prizes such as a smart TV, a refrigerator, a washing machine, mobile phones and other items.
The occasion reflected a strong spirit of unity and loyalty as people from all walks of life came together to mark the historic day while also strengthening community bonds.
