𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐇𝐑𝐇 𝐆𝐲𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐞𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓

On the occasion of the 17th Coronation Anniversary of His Majesty The Druk Gyalpo, the Ministry of Education and Skills Development conducted the annual HRH Gyalsey Math Award in 1 and 2 categories.

This year’s competition saw participation from 2,796 students in Category 1 and 1,406 students in Category 2, representing schools from across the country.

The Ministry is pleased to announce the winners of the 2025 HRH Gyalsey Annual Math Award as listed below:

𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝟏 (𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐈𝐗 & 𝐗):

1. First: Ms. Anju Gautam, Phuentsholing HSS, Phuentsholing Thromde

2. Second: Ms. Ausmithata Gurung, Dagapela MSS, Dagana

3. Third: Mr. Sangay Drukdra, Phobjikha HSS, Wangduephodrang

𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝟐 (𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐗𝐈 & 𝐗𝐈𝐈):

1. First: Mr. Wangchuk Sonam, Sherubling HSS, Trongsa

2. Second: Mr. Srijan Adhikari, Norbugang HSS, Samtse

3. Third: Mr. Ngawang Pelden, Kunzangling HSS, Trashiyangtse

The annual HRH Gyalsey Math Award, instituted in collaboration with The Druk Gyalpo’s Institute aims to recognise and nurture students’ mathematical reasoning and logical thinking, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of Mathematics among both students and teachers.

The cash prizes and certificates will be awarded on the Birth Anniversary of HRH Gyalsey Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck on 5th February 2026.

The Ministry extends its sincere gratitude to all participating schools, teachers and families for their continued encouragement and support in nurturing young Bhutanese mathematicians.
