A series of youth consultations on Climate Change was conducted through six youth centers to gather youth perspectives for Bhutan’s Third Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0). A total of 162 youth including 87 female and 75 male participated in the consultation sessions held between January-June 2025.

The consultations were held in Thimphu, Paro, Wangduephodrang, Gelephu, Mongar and Phuntsholing to amplify youth voices in climate policy processes and promote awareness of climate change impacts and solutions at the grassroots level.

Participants engaged in interactive discussions on local environmental issues, adaptation and mitigation strategies, and their role as changemakers in building a climate-resilient Bhutan. The sessions encouraged critical thinking and empowered youth to share context-specific recommendations for climate action.

The feedback and insights collected through this consultation will contribute to shaping Bhutan’s NDC 3.0 ensuring that youth concerns, aspirations and innovative ideas are integrated into national climate commitments.

The consultation was conducted in collaboration with the Department of Environment and Climate Change of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and Eduyoung Happyness Education Consultancy. It was supported by UNICEF Bhutan.
