The Department of Workforce Planning and Skills Development (DWPSD) under the Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD), funded by ADB-Pathways for Emerging Skills and Jobs Project (PESJP) in collaboration with the Bhutan Education and Skills Training (BEST) Project, successfully conducted a one-day workshop on TVET and Gender Sensitization in Phuentsholing on 27th May 2025, and Samdrup Jongkhar on 29th May 2025.
The workshop brought together approximately 55 participants—25 in Phuentsholing and 30 in Samdrup Jongkhar. The participants included CEOs, managers, HR personnel, and proprietors from various industries and companies, engaging in meaningful dialogue on Bhutan’s evolving TVET system and the vital role of industry in shaping an inclusive, demand-driven TVET ecosystem for a competent and skilled workforce.
One of the highlights of the workshop was the gender sensitization session by RENEW BEST Project, which emphasized the importance of creating equal access and opportunities in the TVET sector, in alignment with the National Education Policy 2025.
The Department would like to sincerely thank the Regional Office of MoICE, Phuentsholing, Chhukha, for mobilizing the participants; the Dzongkhag Administration of Samdrup Jongkhar for mobilizing the participants and generously providing the DT Hall to conduct the workshop; and all our partners for their kind support and collaboration. Your contributions were instrumental in the successful conduct of the workshop.
