𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞: In eastern Bhutan, the first day of the 12th Bhutanese month is celebrated as the New Year. It is believed that on this day representatives from all regions of Bhutan presented #Buelwa or offerings to Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal to express their love and devotion. Thus, the occasion came to be recognised as Buelwa Phuewai Nyim or the Traditional Day of Offering.
