Leadership Scouts in Action: Crowd control and management during Thimphu Tshechu
From 13-15 September, 31 Leadership Scouts were actively engaged in crowd control and management at Tendrel Thang during the Thimphu Tshechu. The Scouts in collaboration with the Royal Bhutan Police were responsible for the following:;
1. Crowd Management: Scouts effectively monitored the movement of attendees to prevent congestion and overcrowding. They directed festival-goers to designated seating zones and exits, ensuring a smooth flow of traffic. Scouts managed key entry and exit points, facilitating organized entry into the festival grounds.
2. Assisted Participants: Scouts provided attendees with accurate information about the festival’s schedule, including dance timings, rituals, and performances. They assisted families in reuniting with lost members, particularly vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly.
3. Safety Protocols: Leadership Scouts enforced safety protocols to prevent large crowds from gathering in restricted or sensitive areas. They worked in close collaboration with the law enforcement and event staff to address safety issues and maintain a peaceful environment.
4. First Aid and Support: Scouts remained alert to potential injuries or medical incidents and responded promptly. They ensured swift communication with medical teams and provided basic first aid support as needed. The presence and dedication of the Leadership Scouts were instrumental in ensuring the success of the Thimphu Tshechu contributing to a well-organized and safe festival experience for all attendees.
