6th Leadership Training for Scouts, MTC, Tencholing, Wangdue, 3rd – 23rd July 2016
The Scouts and Culture Education Division, Department of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Education will be organizing the 6th Leadership Training program at Tencholing, Wangdiphodrang from 3rd July to 23rd July 2016 for 125 Scouts (62 boys and 63 girls). The best Scouts of class XII from all higher secondary schools in the country were selected from 19 Dzongkhags and 4 Thromdes. This is being organized in line with the revitalization of scouting program under the Royal Command and is linked to award of annual scouts’ scholarship.
During the three week training, the scouts will undergo intensive physical training, drills, first aid, safety tips, rescue and river crossing techniques, forest fire prevention, disaster management and emergency casualty evacuation. Besides, theoretical and practical session, guests speakers will be invited to speak on thematic topics like spirituality and its application in daily life, patriotism, loyalty and Tha-Damtse Lay-Jumday, peer helping skills and lectures by young youth role models. Recreational and adventure activities like rappelling exercise, white water rafting, paint ball and firearm shooting will be conducted for the participants.
The training will enable the Scout to be self disciplined, learn to manage their time and acquire numerous skills and values.
