Summer Youth Engagement Programme rolled out through Youth Centres
A total of 744 youth including 372 girls have been positively engaged through Summer Youth Engagement Programme in 13 Youth Centres across Bhutan within the past two weeks. Coordinated by Programme and Youth Coordination Division of the Department of Education Programmes under the Ministry of Education and Skills Development, the programme was designed to positively engage young people during their summer vacation so that they don’t become vulnerable to negative influences. Various educational and recreational activities such as reading, coding/programming, chess, dance/music classes and interactive bonding sessions were conducted as part of the week-long programme. These activities were not only designed to meaningfully engage young people, but also empower them by equipping them with appropriate knowledge and skills that could help them lead a healthy and responsible life. The activities were facilitated by youth volunteers and Youth Centre officials.
