Youth volunteers attend Young Bhutan Network Capacity Development WorkshopA total of 27 youth volunteers from seven youth-led groups under Young Bhutan Network (YBN) attended a three-day capacity development workshop from December 4-6. The workshop brought different youth-led groups together to empower and enhance their skills in making a positive impact on their communities. It provided them an opportunity for learning, collaboration and skill development. The workshop sessions included volunteerism, technology and social media for social impact, communication technique for networking and collaboration, volunteer safety and well-being, connecting personal interests with potential volunteer opportunities, sustainability in volunteerism, team building and goal setting. Facilitated by senior Y-PEER members and officials from UNICEF Bhutan, the sessions were delivered through interactive activities and discussions. On the second day, participants observed the ‘International Volunteers Day.’ By the end of the third day, participants developed an action plan to advocate on the ‘Opportunities available to Children and Adolescents’. The plan will be implemented immediately at the five identified youth centers in Thimphu and Paro. The workshop was organized by the Programme and Youth Coordination Division of the Department of Education Programmes with support from UNICEF Bhutan. Location
