Second batch of multimedia skills training for out-of-school youth starts at iBEST INSTITUTECoordinated by the Programme and Youth Coordination Division of the Department of Education Programmes, a three-month-long multimedia skills training for out-of-school youth has begun today at the iBEST INSTITUTE in Thimphu. A total of 30 youth are attending the training with support from UNICEF Bhutan. The main objective of providing such training is to equip youth with multimedia and digital skills so that they can either get decent employment or start their own businesses in the digital market. During the training, the participants will be learning cinematography, videography, photography, story-telling, script-writing, 2D and 3D animation and basic entrepreneurship. Since these skills are found to have more demand in the modern digital age, it is expected that the training would be relevant and beneficial to the participants. The iBEST INSTITUTE has agreed to recruit at least five of them upon the completion of the training based on their competencies, interests and commitment. Last year, 25 out-of-school youth were trained and four of them have been employed at the institute. Location
