The “Hands-on Training Workshop on Non-Formal Education Management Information System (NFE-MIS),” held from August 17-19 in the picturesque setting of Paro ended successfully. Participants embarked on a transformative journey that unveiled the dynamic potential of the NFE-MIS platform. Through interactive sessions, they were introduced to the strategic framework of the Bridge Bhutan Project celebrating its achievements spanning from 2020 to 2022. Gratitude was extended to the Korean National Commission for UNESCO (유네스코한국위원회 – KNCU) for their enduring commitment to nurturing adult literacy and lifelong learning in Bhutan. Over the course of three days, participants engaged in immersive learning experiences. They delved into the intricacies of the NFE-MIS platform, mastering navigational techniques and embracing the art of center openings and approvals. The hands-on exercises not only demystified the process of registering new learners but also empowered participants to seamlessly schedule course start dates showcasing the platform’s practicality and efficiency. Guided by seasoned facilitators, participants advanced to sophisticated tasks such as data consolidation and certificate generation. The second day was graced by the esteemed presence of the Director, Department of Education Programmes (DEP), Tashi Namgyal. His insights into the significance of NFE programs and strategic directions added a layer of depth to the proceedings. The workshop’s itinerary also included immersive sessions on monitoring & evaluation tools, seamless transitions and the pivotal role of repositories. An insightful evaluation process served as a testament to the impact of the workshop offering valuable insights for future enhancement. As a part of the 2023 Bridge Bhutan Project, the NFE Unit under the Program and Youth Coordination Division of DEP, ICT Division and Bhutan National Commission for UNESCO jointly organized the workshop with funding support from 유네스코한국위원회 – KNCU. Our profound appreciation extends to each participant, facilitator and partner organization that contributed to the workshop’s resounding success. This collaborative effort exemplifies the potential unlocked when governmental bodies and international partners unite for a shared vision of education excellence. Once again, we express our heartfelt gratitude to 유네스코한국위원회 – KNCU for their unswerving dedication to promoting adult literacy and lifelong learning paving the way for a brighter future in Bhutan and beyond.
