A two-day digital literacy rollout programme has begun in Sephu Primary School in Wangdue on June 13. It is being coordinated by the Programme and Youth Coordination Division of the Department of Education Programmes.
The program aims to promote digital literacy among adolescents and youth equipping them with the knowledge and skills to protect themselves online. They will learn how to use their digital devices and online resources responsibly so that they can stay safe from cyber-related crimes and online harassment in the digital age.
A total of 48 adolescents are attending the programme facilitated by 4 young volunteers who attended the NToT on digital literacy in May 2023.
The programme has also been rolled out through other Youth Centres and Youth Friendly Integrated Service Centres to reach out to adolescents and youth in urban and rural communities. It is supported by UNICEF.
