Hon’ble Lyonpo visits Chundu Armed Forces Public School
On May 8, the Hon’ble Minister for Education and Skills Development accompanied by Dasho Dzongdag, Haa and senior officials paid a visit to Chundu Armed Forces Public School in Haa where they engaged in fruitful discussions with both students and teachers.
While interacting with students, Lyonpo’s addresses touched upon various crucial topics such as self-discipline, commitment, school dropout rates, teenage pregnancy, mental health and substance abuse to ignite inspiration and motivation among the young minds. Emphasizing the importance of seeking assistance when faced with challenges, Lyonpo encouraged them to reach out for support.
During a separate meeting with teachers, Lyonpo shed light on key strategies outlined in the Ministry’s 13th five-year plan focusing on enhancing teachers’ professional growth and fostering conducive working environments. Discussions revolved around moderation exercises, individual work plans, attrition rates as well as infrastructure and curriculum development.
Recognizing the dedication of teachers, Lyonpo urged them to provide feedback and continue contributing to the enhancement of the education system. In addition to these interactions, Lyonpo toured the school campus to assess the accessibility of facilities such as ICT and science labs, libraries, staff rooms, restrooms and hostels which are necessary resources for a conducive learning environment.
