Hon’ble Lyonpo graces the 117th National Day Celebration in Samtse
The Hon’ble Lyonpo for the Education and Skills Development graced the 117th National Day celebration in Samtse. Dasho Dzongda, the National Council Member, Lam Neten and esteemed Indian counterparts also joined the occasion underscoring the it’s significance.
The celebration commenced with a sacred Chhipdrel procession and Marchang ceremony showcasing Bhutan’s rich cultural heritage. A heartfelt Zhapten was offered for His Majesty the King reflecting the nation’s unwavering loyalty and prayers for continued peace, prosperity and happiness.
The day’s program featured a vibrant parade and cultural performances that highlighted Bhutan’s traditions and unity. The announcement of the lottery winners added to the festive atmosphere bringing joy and excitement to the attendees.
As a part of the celebration, the Dzongkhag also organised a three-day Entrepreneurs’ Fair which concluded with a live musical show on December 17. The fair provided a valuable platform for local entrepreneurs to display their products and services encouraging innovation and contributing to economic growth in the region.
During the tour, Lyonpo also graced Tendu Shiva Puran ceremony, a significant religious and cultural event on December 16. Engaging with devotees and witnessing the rituals, Lyonpo emphasised the importance of preserving cultural values alongside education fostering a harmonious blend of faith and learning.
Enroute to Thimphu yesterday, Lyonpo visited industrial sites in Samtse accompanied by Dasho Dzongdag and senior officials. She met with CEOs and staff to understand the challenges and opportunities in the industrial sector.
