The Hon’ble Lyonpo for Education and Skills Development yesterday evening met with gups and a representative from 15 gewogs under Samtse Dzongkhag alongside Dasho Dzongdag and senior officials.
The discussion focused on a range of education-related issues such as infrastructure development, the need for improved sports facilities, central schools, staff shortages, recruitment challenges, school upgradation and budget. Lyonpo emphasised the importance of addressing these concerns with a focus on long-term sustainability and highlighted the crucial role of local leaders in strengthening the education sector.
During her visit to Samtse from October 14 to 17, Lyonpo will also engage with the public of Ugyentse, Yoeseltse, Sang-Ngag Chhoeling and Namgaycholing to discuss the Ministry-related challenges and other concerns.
En route to Samtse, Lyonpo held two brief meetings with DEO/TEO, principals and vice-principals of Chhukha Dzongkhag and Phuentsholing Thromde. These meetings served as a platform to discuss key issues and highlight transformative plans in the 13th Five-Year Plan including the critical role of central schools in ensuring equitable access to quality education for students.
