On the auspicious occasion of Thruebab or the Blessed Rainy Day, all-natural water resources in the country are considered to be sanctifying and it is believed that an outdoor bath will cleanse all of bad deeds, obstructions, defilements and accumulated bad karma.
The day is a holiday marking the end of the monsoon season in Bhutan. It also marks the end of the farming season and the beginning of the harvest season.
